Designing and Creating Robotics
One-Week Workshop, Dates Offered:
Session 3B (7/29/24–8/2/24)
Tuition: $1099
Robots continue to be developed with newer, more complex behaviors and uses, so it’s no wonder that it’s a field with a great deal of energy and opportunity behind it. For students, robotics also represents an exciting, hands-on application of a number of scientific passions.
This workshop gives Adventurers an expanded introduction to working with robots in a fun, nurturing environment. Instructors will guide them through many of the issues robotics experts must consider, such as how fast or strong to make their robot and how to improve their performance.
By the end of the week, each Adventurer will have a working, moving robot they can take home to keep tinkering with.
Projects in this workshop may include: Creating an all-terrain vehicle or creating a conveyor belt system.

- This workshop’s curriculum has been reviewed by a panel of college-level faculty from DigiPen Institute of Technology to ensure its relevance and appropriateness for students aged 9–13.
- As with every Open World workshop, a special visit by an industry guest has been arranged to help students see the connection between their workshop and real-world careers.
