Developing for Fortnite in Unreal
One-Week Workshop, Dates Offered:

The increasing popularity of games like Fortnite mean that massive development teams are constantly building complex tool for designers and artists to generate new content for players. Designing the large maps and programming the complex systems used in these games may seem intimidating, but these same skills can easily lead to a career in a number of fields!
Students in this Adventurers workshop will be introduced to the core concepts of game development while learning to use the Unreal Engine for Fortnite. Instructors will offer students a practical understanding of game development and the importance of well-designed game maps and modes that keep players engaged.
By the end of the workshop, students will be able to design, program, and iterate their own game modes and additional systems for Fortnite.
Projects in this workshop may include: Developing a playable parkour game and programming a racing game.
We LOVE Digipen camps. We do other camps and [our son] tolerates them every year, but when it comes time for Digipen camps he is a different person.

- This workshop’s curriculum has been reviewed by a panel of college-level faculty from DigiPen Institute of Technology to ensure its relevance and appropriateness for students aged 9–13.
- As with every Open World workshop, a special visit by an industry guest has been arranged to help students see the connection between their workshop and real-world careers.
