In video games, players battle dragons, explore enchanted castles, and solve magical mysteries – adventures that bring imagination to life through interactive storytelling. Game design teaches how to build worlds players want to explore and craft challenges that feel rewarding, connecting creative thinking with problem-solving and planning.
Explorers will transform their fantasy world ideas into playable adventures through physical design activities and digital coding with MakeCode Arcade. Through creating mystical levels and designing epic challenges, students build their own unique ProjectFUN game to take home on a handheld console – an enchanted creation they can quest through and share.
Projects in this workshop may include: Designing and building a dungeon for an adventure game and designing a platformer game in real life using chalk
