Lecture –<\/span><\/span> Myron Hunt:\u00a0
<\/span><\/span><\/strong>Wednesday, May 18\u00a0
<\/span>7:00 – 8:30 p.m.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Historian Kris Hartzell will speak about the architect<\/span><\/span> Myron Hunt at the Kenilworth Assembly Hall. Myron<\/span><\/span> Hunt was a contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright. In her<\/span><\/span> presentation, Hartzell will compare and contrast the<\/span><\/span> characteristics of Hunt\u2019s work with homes designed<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

by Wright in Kenilworth. Kris Hartzell is the Director<\/span><\/span> of Facilities, Visitor Services and Collections at the<\/span><\/span> Evanston History Center.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>

Memorial Day Open House:\u00a0

After Kenilworth\u2019s Memorial Day parade, the Kenilworth<\/span><\/span> Historical Society will be open to the public. Visitors can<\/span><\/span> tour the exhibit space, including the new permanent<\/span><\/span> exhibit on Kenilworth. There will be activities for the<\/span><\/span> whole family to enjoy!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kenilworth Bingo:\u00a0

Stop by the Kenilworth Assembly Hall to play a few<\/span><\/span> rounds of Kenilworth-themed Bingo during the Park<\/span><\/span> District\u2019s Monday Happy Hour. Participants will learn a<\/span><\/span> bit about Kenilworth\u2019s history while playing on custom-<\/span><\/span>made bingo boards featuring photographs from the<\/span><\/span> collections. Prizes will be awarded!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>1:30 – 3:00 p.m.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In celebration of its centennial, the Kenilworth Historical<\/span><\/span> Society is partnering with the Chicago Architecture<\/span><\/span> Center to have a series of Kenilworth walking tours.<\/span><\/span> Participants will view the earliest homes in Kenilworth<\/span><\/span> and learn about residential architecture built between<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

the early-1890s and the mid-1920s by distinguished<\/span><\/span> Chicago architects. Noted architects include: George<\/span><\/span> Washington Maher, Franklin Burnham, Joseph Lyman<\/span><\/span> Silsbee, George Nimmons and John Van Bergen.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The tour will begin at the Kenilworth Train Station and<\/span><\/span> conclude at the Kenilworth Historical Society.<\/span><\/span> Tickets can be purchased on the Chicago Architecture<\/span><\/span> Center website. Members of the Kenilworth Historical<\/span><\/span> Society will receive a $10 discount on tickets. Please<\/span><\/span>
